Blog – Changing How Startups Start

I Believed I Could Fly, Until I Didn’t.

I had a very active imagination when I was a child. I believed I could fly. I had very clear memories of flying, the wind in my hair, the feeling of the wind passing through my fingers was much like the sensation of the wind tickling your fingers, hand, and arm as you play with the wind outside of a moving car window. I remember trying to convince my brother every chance I got.  This memory was left in my childhood, open. In my 20’s, something triggered a rush back to those open memories. I had this sudden rush of awe when I realized how solid I was in my convictions. I needed that different lens, to close that memory, that “Aha!” moment, to realize that at that very young age, I simply couldn’t tell the difference between reality and my dreams. These are the types of “Aha!” moments bringing new lenses into different aspects of, in our case, the startup ecosystem.

Through this blog, my podcasts and the LinkingVentures Snapshot Valuations, we will be exploring the startup ecosystem with many different lenses to open our eyes to more possibilities and perceptions. We will be opening the box to look at Schrödinger’s cat.
